Understanding The Different Mesotherapy Products And Procedures

By Tonia Michael

Mesotherapy is the medical procedure used to reduce the patient's cellulite by injecting compounds into the fat layer. First developed around the 1950s in France, this procedure has gained international attention. Up to this moment, its effectiveness is still hotly debated. Still, several cosmetic surgeons are offering this specialty. The prices may differ depending on the number of treatments, the procedures and the mesotherapy products used.

This process can reduce fats in particular spots. This can be centered on certain areas that are notorious to be difficult to handle, such as the neck, chain, love handles, inner thighs and buttocks. Some practitioners also claim that this can help reduce cellulite, remove scars and eliminate wrinkles. Others even claim about its ability to stimulate hair growth.

This process is quite straight-forward. The vitamins, medications and minerals will be injected in certain areas that need working on. This is injected right into the fat layers beneath the skin. The mixture may be modified according to the patient's condition and its desired effect. It may also be added with anesthetics to help reduce pain in the process.

After being absorbed, the mixture will theoretically remove fats away and synthesize the fat cells. Then, these are flushed out through the bowels and the kidney. The injected compounds can weaken the tissue's connective bands. This causes fat breakdown. This can also lead to reduced dimpling and a cleaner appearance.

Being a part of skin renewal system, the process can rejuvenate the skin. The improvement of the skin may be noticeable as it gets fresher and cleaner towards the course's end. It can even restore elasticity that has gone through aging. This treatment also help in the production of elastin and collagen to reduce the fine lines and wrinkles.

The good thing about this treatment is that it is non-invasive. The recovery process is shorter than that of an open operation. This can easily be done and the patient may return to work on the same day of the operation. However, patients must also refrain from consuming caffeine before the procedure nor wear makeup immediately after the process.

The ill-effects of mesotherapy is limited. This includes burning, itching, redness, heightened sensitivity, liver damage, swelling and bruising. Luckily, it can fade away very easily. Swelling and bruising may soon get better in just a week's time, while itching and pain can last just for a few days.

Although this can also cut down one's weight, this is advertised as body-sculpting treatment rather than weight loss technique. This is because of its efficiency in removing some trouble parts in the body. Many prefer this procedure over liposuction simply because this is not invasive, it does not require aesthetics or bandages and there are no downtime.

The mesotherapy products include various substances that are injected to the fat layers during treatment process. Some of the substances used are the homeopathic compounds, herbal extracts, vitamins, allopathic drugs and other compounds. Natural compounds may also be used to stimulate lymphatic flow and remove fat.
