How To Diagnise and Prevent Hypertensive Disease

By Ramella Knoll

I might not be wrong if I say that more and more people are becoming susceptible to hypertensive disease in the recent past. This is one of the top diseases causing death or at least resulting in further complications from other pre-existing diseases. The chances of Hypertensive disease problems causing coronary heart diseases are more than twice without this disease.

The modern day competitive trends in various walks of life add stress and tension and on top of this, the lifestyle and the food habits are considered as main causes of the disease. A sedentary lifestyle at office or business with no much physical activity and more of mental strain further aggravates the situation. A simple precautionary measures and the proper monitoring of various parameters of tests could reduce the condition or at least let you know the onset of disease at an early stage.

In most of the cases, the disease is likely to result in high blood pressure which might trigger the ischemic heart disease and the heart muscles need to supply more oxygen by working hard which is likely to result in 'burn out' conditions. In case of irregular supply of blood to the vital organs of the body, the stressful condition of the entire mechanism is likely to result in swelling of the legs. Further, the left ventricle of the heart also may experience more stress in trying to avoid the abnormality of the conditions.

Due to shortage of supply of oxygen to the vital organs of the body, the normal functionality may be affected in more than one way. Similarly, the hard-pressed heart in trying to pump more blood to the organs might cause irregular heartbeat and also pulse rate and this is likely to cause more disorders in functions of the body.

Everyone in the middle age group should undergo the simple tests which do not cost much to ensure that the parameters are within the range. You may begin with a simple ECG and if required opt for an echo cardiogram. Depending upon these parameters, further tests like stress test, CT scan, calcium-score heart scan or coronary CT angiography may be recommended. In certain cases, perhaps, you may have to undergo the heart MRI to know the functioning of the heart from outside. To get a sample of the fluid in the heart, Pericardiocentesis is also done.

My conclusion is that though the treatment may vary from angioplasty, bypass or a pacemaker to keep regular rhythm and pace of the heart beat, you can ensure vegetables, fish and soya protein in your health food to avoid blood clots besides reducing stress levels to avoid hypertensive disease and hypertensive disease problems.
